Bishop's Stortford Swimming Club began the Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships with a bang by claiming eight gold medals.
Club members bagged 23 medals in total during the first of four weekends of action in Borehamwood.
The golden gang were Jessie Fields (women's 100m fly, 14 years), Alex Catton (men's 100m back, 16 and over), Alice Longman (women's 100m free, 13 years) and Kaia Phillips (women's 100m free, 14 years) along with Mehdi El Mansar (men's 200m IM, 16 and over), Kirsty Neill (women's 200m IM, 13 years), Callum Cox (men's 100m fly, 14 years), who was swimming for his old club Ware, and Sami Zemzami (men's 400m free, 15 years).
Silver medals were won by Millie Fields, James Gisborne, Zemzami (two), Phillips, Mia Carter, Cox, Neill and El Mansar.
Bronzes were bagged by Jago Derrington, Bryn Couser, Phillips, Fields, Longman and Lauren Gore.
There were also good performances by the likes of Ethan David-Tostevin and Zoe Opiyo, who reached finals in their first county championships.
