General Election candidates for Saffron Walden to address Stansted hustings
Voters will be able to question candidates for the Saffron Walden constituency in next month's General Election at a hustings in Stansted on Friday (Nov 29).
The event at St John’s Church, St John’s Road, which has been organised by Churches Together in Stansted, will take place between 7.30pm and 9pm. Doors open at 7pm.
All four candidates for the Parliamentary constituency of Saffron Walden – which is made up of the district of Uttlesford plus four Chelmsford borough wards – will be present: Kemi Badenoch (Con), Mike Hibbs (Lib Dem), Thomas van de Bilt (Lab) and Coby Wing (Green).
The hustings will be chaired by Jane Mitchell. Each candidate will have four minutes to address the audience.
Thereafter, they will have 90 seconds to answer questions from the floor on a range of topics and from a broad cross section of the audience.
Saffron Walden has been a Conservative safe seat since 1922. It was won at the 2017 General Election by Kemi Badenoch with a majority of almost 25,000. Labour finished second for the first time since 1970.
