East Herts Council launches Covid-19 recovery grants
East Herts Council has launched a new Community Covid-19 Recovery Fund.
Up to £7,500 is available to support community, voluntary, arts and sporting organisations that benefit the district's residents.
Applications focused on areas of deprivation or supporting vulnerable groups will be considered first.
Cllr Jonathan Kaye, EHC's executive member for communities, said: "Without the help of volunteers in East Herts, hundreds of people would have felt more isolated than most of us have felt over the past year or so.
"This essential work, not only to provide meals but also to act as a link between vulnerable people living on their own and the rest of the community, has been so important. That is why East Herts Council has gone the extra mile to help these groups and organisations get back on track."
To apply, organisations must show they have been negatively impacted by Covid-19, lockdown and restrictions on social interaction and how they played a part in containing coronavirus and preventing the disease from impacting communities.
Eligible costs include rent, rates, insurance, PPE and other Covid-19 compliant infrastructure required to provide services.
The deadline is 5pm on Monday August 2. See https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/community-wellbeing/east-herts-community-covid-19-recovery-grant-2021 to find out more.
