'Earn while you learn' training scheme for nurses at Princess Alexandra Hospital
Princess Alexandra Hospital is offering 10 aspiring nurses the chance to "earn while you learn".
The Harlow hospital, working with Anglia Ruskin University, is the first in Essex to adopt a four-year degree programme which enables recruits to be paid as a clinical support worker while also attending university.
On successful completion of their studies, they will become a registered nurse with a BSc (Hons) degree, fully funded by the hospital, meaning that the students will not have accrued university debt.
Sharon McNally, director of nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professionals at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT), said: "We are proud to offer the apprenticeship route into nursing in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University.
"There are 10 places available for passionate aspiring nurses who want to work and learn at our hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to help make a difference for local people and develop the skills to pursue a rewarding career in nursing."
Applications close on August 4. Visit the Government apprenticeship website https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/apprenticeship/-528271.
Successful applicants will be invited to a virtual interview with representatives of Anglia Ruskin and PAHT on September 1.
