Supermarket vouchers to help struggling families during school holidays will be available this winter thanks to a Government grant.

The MP for North West Essex faces juggling constituency work with her new role as leader of the Conservative party as she bids to win back voters.

Grove Cottage and Visually Impaired Persons Club in Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth Town Football Club receive grants totalling £1,800.

Cllr Helen Campbell said: “Liberal Democrats will hold this Government’s feet to the fire on the promises they’ve made on the NHS.”

Cllr Carl Brittain said: “Despite Labour’s promises, the budget failed to deliver the significant change that the country is crying out for.”

The MP for North West Essex was declared the winner at an event in central London on Saturday, beating rival Robert Jenrick by 53,806 votes to 41,388

Local Conservatives have held up their hands and accepted a share of the blame for Labour’s “tax-raising, growth-crushing” Budget.

The party’s data is based on insurance claims made to the county council, which has paid out £150,000 to motorists since 2021.

“The National Insurance increases will have a significant impact on our care providers and we’ll need to plan for these costs with them.”
